Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer with approx. 5 years of professional experience to join our engineering team. The role will support the technical execution of large-scale projects in thermal power generation, transmission, and grid modernization. The position requires close collaboration with international partners and Syrian authorities to ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient delivery. The engineer will act as a bridge between local project execution and international engineering partners, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient coordination with Syrian stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

• Support the planning and execution of energy mega-projects (thermal power, transmission & grid)
• Coordinate with international partners and local authorities to facilitate project development and delivery.
• Conduct site visits, gather technical data, and prepare engineering reports.
• Assist in reviewing technical documentation (drawings, designs, specifications) and provide feedback tailored to Syrian conditions.
• Support project permitting and regulatory processes in coordination with government entities.
• Contribute to cost estimation, project scheduling, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with international engineering standards and local safety regulations.
• Act as a liaison between local contractors, ministries, utilities (MoE, PEEGT, etc.), and international offices.

Qualifikations & Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Power Engineering.
• Around 5 years of engineering experience, ideally in - at least- one of the following areas:

• Thermal power plants (gas/steam/CHP)
• Transmission & distribution systems (grid, substations)
• Energy infrastructure or industrial projects • Strong understanding of energy systems, grid operation, and industrial processes.

• Previous experience in project engineering, site supervision, or technical consulting is preferred.
• Familiarity with international engineering standards (IEC, DIN, ASME, etc.) is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English (both written and verbal).
• Ability to work in challenging environments with a solution-driven mindset.
• Based in Syria or willing to relocate to Syria for extended assignments.
